We were commissioned to develop the masterplan and concept designs for ‘The Great Adventure’, the main children’s gallery of the new Jiangxi Science and Technology Museum. The gallery draws on children’s natural curiosity and imagination to encourage play-led exploration and discovery, and consists of several distinct, highly interactive and immersive ‘lands’, as well as a dedicated under-5s play area and a number of themed programming spaces.
Each land is themed around a different societal theme, with a special focus on science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. We developed the core narrative and the gallery and exhibit concept designs for each land and for the associated programming spaces.
