Situated along the iconic Dubai Creek, the Al Shindagha Museum explores Dubai’s unique history and traditions. In 2021, Talents UAE was appointed to operate the partially open museum. They asked KCA London to help them ensure their operations and staffing lived up to the world-class standards set by the museum’s buildings and exhibitions. 


Our work since has spanned many aspects of strategy and operation and has helped guide the museum team through a period of gradual opening and expansion. Throughout, we have worked closely with both Talents UAE and Dubai Culture to help identify and respond to the museum’s changing needs and objectives. 

A major focus of our work has been establishing and developing the back- and front-of-house teams. We’ve helped define team structure and roles, supported recruitment and run regular bespoke training and mentoring programmes. 

We have also helped set up and refine the museum’s operations – developing operational strategies and procedures, and advising on areas like health and safety, inclusion, visitor service and information, audience development and programming strategy. 

As the museum has become more established, we have continued to support the team as they expand and diversify the museum’s offer and activities, and their own roles and responsibilities. We recently helped establish an approach to managing the differing cultural practices and sensitivities of ASM’s varied audience and staff, and developed a strategy and roadmap for activating the public spaces around the museum.

We have supported the teams at ASM since 2021, working in a variety of areas from operational planning, through to experience design and long term mentorship.
