We were appointed to help plan and design a visitor centre that would inspire the next generation of Saudi energy innovators. Our role spanned masterplanning, experience design, and operations, starting with the definition of the vision, themes and approach for the centre. We were responsible for all content research, interpretive development and exhibition design, and the development of the exhibit approach and concepts. We also worked on the operational planning for the centre, helping to develop Mishkat’s operational strategies and policies, and leading the recruitment and training of the operational team.
The centre was completed in just nine months, and was shortlisted for the 2013 Museum & Heritage Awards Best International Project.
We still work closely with Mishkat, mentoring departments and supporting the delivery of audience focused, inspiring projects. This includes new exhibits, graphic identities for themed seasons, staff training, strategic planning, organising festivals and creating new science shows and programmes.
